In this post, I am adding some handpicked tools which i have worked on myself . Have added some new tools which are fun to use and wish I have found them earlier. Basically, I would like to mention here that these posts here & here by @danic & Savio Martin really motivated me a lot that's the reason i did this one .

No Code tools enable people around the world to create technology without code. Before no-code tools, building a simple web application was a challenging task and often left to developers. Fortunately, this is no longer the case.

While no-code tools can't solve all technical challenges, having the right no-code stack can certainly help you get certain jobs done much faster, easier, and cheaper. Moreover, these days as marketing automation is the buzz word, many of these nocode tools provide an amazing platform for automation. We are actively using many such tools at Volt studios, a leading digital marketing agency in Toronto.

There are hundreds of no-code tools available, some free and some expensive. They also serve many different purposes, from third-party integrations to building web applications and more.

The no-code landscape is attracting a lot of interest and is growing year after year.

This growth is exciting as it means that if you have a development problem, you can probably find a no-code tool to help you solve it. But it is also overwhelming.

How do you know which of the two hundred tools is worth trying and investing in?

This post will help you clarify those decisions. We will describe the top no-code tools in 2020. Each platform has its specific use case, so pay attention to its purpose, this will ensure that you choose the right tool for the right job.

What is No Code?

For those of you wondering 'what is without code?', Let me explain. The software is created by code. This has not changed. What has changed is how that code is produced.

Traditionally, the code is produced by a developer/programmer who writes it using an IDE (integrated development environment). Writing code is a difficult skill and takes years to master. On top of that, in most scenarios, there is more than one programming language and framework to learn.

With no-code tools, you can create a web application, website, database, etc. without having to write code.

No coding tool replaces clicking or drag-and-drop coding. In most cases, the user interacts with a GUI (graphical user interface). This method of creating software is often called visual programming, which is not a new concept.

Truth be told, I'm not a fan of the no-code phrase because it's wrong. Code powers the Internet, and it always will. What no code represents is more of a movement and a set of tools. 'No coding' is more appropriate, and even that is not technically correct. You can find a short description below:

No-code is a programming method that involves creating web technologies with GUI-based tools, rather than writing code.

Evolution of the tool without code

No-code tools have been vastly improved. Almost anyone can create a website with tools like Carrd. There are entrepreneurs, marketers, and designers who create production-ready web applications without the help of a developer, which is an incredible feat. Gone are the days when only a programmer could do things for the Internet.

Movement without code

We are at the beginning of a revolution. As more people access the internet and there are no code tools to remove technical barriers, countless creators and entrepreneurs will be born.

This will bring an opportunity. It will open doors to subject matter experts and enable people to create and test PoCs quickly and cost-effectively. It will change many lives and level many playing fields. To some extent, it will democratize software development.

Create beautiful websites and web apps using Airtable Start with a template, integrate tools and automate your business without code

Others which i myself used are beehiiv an awesome newsletter builder and monitizing tool with no coding knowledge , An alternative to substack. Here is another one named letterdrop . Then comes, a simple but creative 1 page site builder somebody.io & edu.thinkific where you can create a full fledged educational courses and monetize it.

Budibase

Budibase is the new and better way to design, build and launch SaaS applications. In other words, with Budibase, you can create SaaS without coding. It is also an excellent tool for producing proofs of concepts quickly. In addition to that, its workflow section makes it the perfect tool for creating internal tools, resulting in substantial savings in efficiency. When it comes to building web applications, Budibase offers users the combined functionality of popular no-code platforms such as Airtable, Webflow

Budibase is different from other no-code tools: it is open source and can be downloaded and used for free. Budibase believes that if a person is going to build their business using a no-code tool, they should have the confidence that it will always be available and the flexibility to customize their use case.

IFTTT

IFTTT means 'If this, then that'. IFTTT is similar to Zapier, and strings together simple conditional statements to help users automate tasks. A key difference between Zapier and IFTTT is that Zapier can handle multiple triggers and actions, and it also has more integrations. But in our opinion, IFTTT's user interface is perfect for beginners and simple automation, making it ideal for hobbyists.

IFTTT is free to use. If you want to publish an integration with IFTTT, you will have to pay them an annual fee.

Air table

Airtable is a hybrid of spreadsheet and database and is often referred to as a management application due to its productivity features. Airtable gives you the functionality of a database, with the user interface of a spreadsheet, which is great for beginners.

Airtable is online and allows you to collaborate with your colleagues, making communication easy.

From a database perspective, Airtable is easy to use and offers many integrations with other platforms. All-in-all Airtable is an excellent platform for creating in-house database-centric tools. It also benefits from a popular template marketplace called Universe, which is incredibly useful.

Airtable is free to use until it reaches 1200 records. The free tier is also limited to 2GB of attachment space and two weeks of history. The next tier is the plus tier and will cost you $ 20 / user/month. At this level, you can benefit from 5,000 records, 5GB of space for attachments, and six months of history.

Typeform

With a beautiful user interface and a conversational approach to gathering information, Typeform is the perfect no-code tool for creating forms and surveys. Having used Typeform, it is easy to get started and easy to use.

Typeform integrates with over 500 applications, allowing you to send your data to multiple endpoints. The forms produced by Typeform are professional and usable, resulting in high conversion rates.

Typeform has a free plan. It consists of three types of form, ten questions per type of form, and 100 responses/month. The next level, 'Essentials', gives you 1,000 responses/month, unlimited types, endless questions, and three logical jumps per type.

Bonus: Typeform recently released a new product, Videoask, that instead of written questions, users post videos of themselves asking the questions. It's very cool and would be perfect for UX / UI testing. I'm going to try and test it with the Alpha participants. It has a free tier, which allows you to create up to 20 minutes of recordings.

Shopify

Shopify is the ultimate no-code tool for building eCommerce sites to promote, sell, and ship your products. It is easy to use and offers users templates to choose from to help them get started faster. Shopify is a reliable and proven performance with more than 1,000,000 online businesses who trust the platform to power their online commerce.

If you are interested in drop shipping, you can add Oberlo to your Shopify account. This allows you to ship your products directly from your supplier's warehouse to your customer's doorstep each time they make a sale. There are many more cool plugins within the Shopify app store, which can help improve the online sales process, and we advise you to check them out if you decide to sell through Shopify.

Shopify doesn't have a free tier, but does offer new users a 14-day free trial. After the free trial, users can choose 1 of 3 paid plans. The basic plan is $ 29 a month and offers two staff counts, unlimited products, and an online store.

Web flow

Webflow is a website builder that enables designers to create responsive websites without code. Webflow is a SaaS platform and includes hosting.

For me, Webflow sits very well between tools like Wix and frontend web development. Generally, website builders are limited in customization for flexibility, where Webflow users can customize almost anything (from a website perspective). This flexibility and ease of use make it a powerful solution for creating attractive websites.

Webflow also comes with a CMS to help users manage their content. The CMS is flexible and allows users to define the structure and style of dynamic content. The lowest tier for building a website is its basic tier at $ 12 per month. This does not include the use of the Webflow CMS, but does include 500 form submissions.

Carrd

CARRD is also a creator of websites without code, but differs in many respects Webflow. Carrd is best suited for people who need to quickly create a simple one page site/landing page. What sets Carrd apart from other website builders is its price and simplicity. In a matter of minutes, you could have a site created and launched using Carrd and for free!

Carrd's free tier includes up to 3 sites per account. All main Carrd functions are also included in the free account. If you want to 'go pro' it will cost you just $ 9 a year. Yes, we said year! With the Pro plan, users get custom domains, forms, and more sites.

Stripes

You must have heard of Stripe. If you haven't, you are a PSP payment service provider. Its rapid progress is an inspiration to all of us. Last year, 84% of American adults bought something through Stripe. Companies like Amazon, Uber, Airbnb, Spotify use Stripe to boost their payments.

Stripe's success to me is down to one critical factor: they solved a real problem. Accepting money from people online was difficult and led many large e-commerce sites to create solutions that cost $$$ to manage and support. However, Stripe and Budibase share one thing in common. Both are no-code / low-code tools that continue to focus on developers. And this is important, since both are complementary to the development process and take their place alongside the programmers.

Stripe is obsessed with the customer experience. Build a payment platform or integrate with a single-use to take weeks and many lines of code. With Stripe, it takes minutes and about seven lines of code. As a user, this allows you to focus on creating, launching and promoting your product. Stripe does not have a free tier and is priced based on transactions. For each successful card charge, Stripe will charge 2.9% + $ 0.30.

Payhere

Payhere is another company from Ireland - third on this list! Payhere ranks on top of Stripe and GoCardless, and users can start collecting payments without having to write a line of code. Users simply create a payment form and start accepting card payments in minutes. No code at all!

We spoke to Scott, co-founder of Payhere, and he informed us:

“Payhere enables our users to create one-time, recurring, donation-based payments in minutes. Why spend time or money developing payments when it's not your main feature, just plug it in and play with Payhere? "

Scott, Co-founder of Payhere Payhere offers a pricing setup similar to Stripe, where they charge 2% per transaction.

Memberstack

Memberstack works with website builders to allow users to add memberships, user accounts, and payments to their websites without writing code. It combines excellently with Webflow, and its popularity is growing rapidly among the design community, and for good reason.

Setup is straightforward and the provided dashboard template is a useful starting point. Memberstack is free to use until your site is ready to go. This is great as it gives you the freedom and time to get your site right, without the added pressure of having to spend £ £ £. Once your site is up, what you pay will depend on how much money your site makes.

Their smallest plan, Pro, is for sites that make up to $ 1,200 a month. It costs $ 25 / month, including a 3% transaction fee, and it gives you unlimited paying members, 10,000 free members, and removes your brand.

Zapier

Have you heard of Zapier or do you know what it is used for? It is an online tool that allows you to automate workflows. Through this tool, you can connect applications such as Gmail, Dropbox, Google Contacts, Shopify, or Mailchimp, as well as a thousand other apps.

In this way, we can automate tasks and processes thanks to an action called "zap", without the need to know to program. This is due to the fact that Zapier allows the different tools to "communicate" with each other, to carry out these tasks.

For example, imagine that you include a new contact and add it to Google Contacts, but at the same time, you need to include it in your MailChimp subscriber list. Until now you would fill in the data first in Google and then in MailChimp or vice versa. With Zapier this is no longer necessary. Thanks to a "zap" you can automate this operation and only add the data once.

Voice flow

We love Voiceflow. As a fan of smart speakers, we love creating games, quizzes, and other voice apps. Voiceflow is our tool of choice and it allows me to design, prototype and create all our voice applications without coding.

The voice app market has grown exponentially over the years due to the popularity of Amazon's Google Assistant and Alexa, which now has more than 80,000 skills. Voiceflow capitalizes on this popularity and now has more than 25,000 users.

Voiceflow has a very generous free plan, which includes unlimited projects, all major features, and community support. If you want to collaborate in real-time or with priority support, you will need to go for the Pro plan, which costs $ 39 / publisher / month.

No-code tools won't prevent a bad idea or a lack of marketing, but they will certainly help you get your product to market faster and easier. There are many more no-code tools, but for this list, we tried to only list the ones that you really need and the tools that we have personally used and liked.

Flourish

Easily create beautiful node-link charts with Flourish, the powerful platform for data visualization and storytelling In Flourish you can easily make a network chart by uploading data in spreadsheet format. ... Want to make a network visualization with your own data? Flourish is there for you. Design from the comfort of your web browser. Get your design buds tickling. I myself tried it while doing research on Canada's air data quality in real time and the change and development trends of urban air quality and control pollution for effective mold removal . You can see it live here here

Several tools remain that we have not tested and listed, but hope to do so shortly. These tools include:

Integromat: an alternative to Zapier

Landen: an alternative to Carrd

Retool: an internal tool builder

Standard library - similar to Zapier

We'd like to point out that no-code tools can take you a long way and in some cases all the way. But please don't dismiss the importance of the code. For now, there are still many areas of web application, website and database building that require coding and possibly a developer.

Fortunately, proper documentation can help users learn code snippets, opening up a technical world of possibilities. And, in most cases, the encoding isn't the hard part. Understanding the logic and how a web application or membership site is connected / works is the most difficult and unavoidable part even in no-code tools. If you can conquer this, then a little code won't stop you.

Bonus: NOCODE communities

The tools are great and a must-have for building your product without code, but behind the platforms are amazing communities. Two no-code communities that we'd like to highlight are Makerpad and NoCodeDevs.

Both are active communities with hundreds / thousands of visual / non-encoder programmers participating in advancing the industry, an inspiration for all tool developers.

Makerpad

Makerpad is described as the no-code version of the giant Github. we feel like Makerpad has a long way to go before meeting those standards, but we think they will have the same impact on the no-code community as the giant. And one day, they will succeed thanks to the tenacity of its founder Ben Tossel. What they do offer, what Github doesn't offer, is a platform to educate. Education is a powerful strategy and enables creators to do more and achieve what was previously unattainable. This gives birth to incredibly loyal followers.

Makerpad started in January 2019 and has more than 130 tutorials and 1000 professional members. They have free and paid tutorials.

NoCodeDevs

NoCodeDevs is a community of visual programmers who interact through a social media platform. The group is very active and always ready to help. The great thing about NoCodeDevs is the ability to ask questions and surveys, as well as private messaging.

NoCodeDevs is free to join and use.

Last words
